  1. that cage doesnt even look big enough for 1 never mind 2. i did a cage calculation (it was for rats) but they are roughly the same size as a chinchilla and it said that a rat wouldnt even be able to stand up properly in it

that is about the size you would want, although its in pounds not dollars

  2. NO! You will need a cage at  least 5 times as big. I have one chin and his cage is twice maybe three times as large. A good cage for two would be one about 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide. There is one on that site that is good... type in 'huge cage' it might say ferret but at long as the ladders are not wire and don't have holes it's really fine.

    Good luck!

  3. The dimensions are 31" L X 17.5" W X 28.5" H. That is less than 3 square feet of living area (not counting the levels), so no, it is not large enough for a chinchilla.

Also, another thing that concerns me about that cage is that it has a wire floor and wire levels. It may make it easier to clean, but it's not good for animals to live on surfaces like that. Ideally, you want a cage with a solid floor and solid additional levels. Chinchillas like to hop around, so you definitely want a multi-level cage, but one with the shelves made of something other than wire.

Get the largest cage you can afford, or build one yourself. The chinchillas will be much happier for it!

  4. Dimensions: 31" L X 17.5" W X 28.5" H.

it says so at the bottom of the page.

    converted to metric units its:

    78.74 cm L X 44.45 cm W X 72.39 cm H

That is not large enough for a chinchilla, let alone two.

  5. That isn't a proper chinchilla cage at all.  Chinchillas need a cage that is AT LEAST three feet by three feet by three feet.

Martin's cages has some very nice large cages that are relatively inexpensive:

If you can afford it, the Chinchilla Mansion is the best cage:

Ferret Nation cages are also not bad:

Good luck with your chinchilla! :)
