What are these dream-like states called?

1.Sometimes I have dreams... but I'm awake. I may be just waking up, but I'm fully awake, conscious, and aware. I can feel, hear, and smell. I know I'm awake, and that I could open my eyes and end the dream just like that if I wanted to, but I let it play on.

2.This usually happens to me during stressful times where I've had to remain in a certain place for a long time or a situation is REALLY gnawing at me:

I can't sleep 'cause I feel that I'm not in my room, but rather in that environment that's stressing me out. I even hear the voices of the people that are usually in that place or people that are my worry, and I see them. I AM THERE. Whether my eyes are open or closed makes little difference. When I do open them, I see the dream and I'm still in it (AND awake). Kinda like a hologramHowever, the dream starts to dissolve and fade as it moves away from me, simultaneously being replaced with REALITY fading in towards me, until it's just me sitting in my bed.

  4. I believe this is called the hypnogogic state and is a wonderful state to be in because you can give yourself positive messages to help you to become confident and capable, healthy etc. It's having direct access to your subconscious. I envy you, I wish I had it.

    Maybe in your hypnogogic state you could speak to these people who  worry you and try to resolve your difficulties. You could tell them regularly that you appreciate them or like them and see if the situation changes in your waking life. Don't say negative things though, as that will be counter-productive to you and them.  It's a wonderful gift to have, use it to do good for yourself and others. Good luck.

  7. This is most likely lucid dreaming. It is more common in some people than others. It is the state of being aware during a dream. At such a time you may realize that you could wake yourself up, and for many people that experience lucid dreaming it can be a challenge not to wake yourself up.

    I have experienced lucid dreaming, though not as often as you, and they can be the most fun or the most annoying dreams. I have also had limited experience with the hearing of voices you know. When I was very young, second-grade-ish, I would sometimes be almost asleep when a pleasant murmur of a voice, a voice of someone I knew would wander into my half-awake thoughts, and then suddenly it would rise in volume and the person (or their voice) would tart screaming and yelling! At that point I was usually jolte wide awake, since they were usually people that never yelled and it bothered me.

    However, remember that your experience with lucid dreaming is unique, and no two minds work the same way. If you want to know more, you can look it up on the internet with ease, especially since scientific studies on it are growing in popularity.

    Once, a friend of mine had a dream that he was trapped in an office building. He remained fully aware that he was dreaming and felt almost awake, but he couldn;t seem to wake up, so he went to go find a way to kill himself in the dream since he remembered that doing so would cause you to wake up. He never did find a way and woke up the normal way after a few hours of that.

  9. There are several different terms that sort of encompass what you're going through. Astral projection and out-of-body experiences are common during stressful periods so you can "escape" your body and be "free" for a little while. You may also be experiencing a hypnagogic state or sleep paralysis.

  11. I have to agree that this is a lucid dream.  I know it really feels like you are awake, but you are not.  Next time it happens, try to guide your mind to a place that feels safe and peaceful.

  13. Entoptic visions? Hypnagogic visions? I've had these, and usually it was during a traumantic emotional experience. Eyes closed or shut it doesn't matter, be careful not to burn your mind with too much information, you could be turned into pure energy. I once saw a movie when I was a kid, and it turned out I really saw it on a TV show 24-26 years in the future.
