In what curriculum?

If your Personal Finance elective is like my Consumer Economics subject was in high school than that would be something great to take. It taught my a lot of things that are very necessary regarding more things than you might think.

The others though would solely depend on what you want and/or your career interests.

Most schools  have different  choices of electives.Its  hard  for people to advise you.

Speech communication is about the way people communicate using symbolic behavior.  

Personal finance is about money managment, savings, insurance and investments.  

Journalism is about writing for the media.

Business skills is one I've never taken (funny because I now run a business lol)

The first two you mentioned would be very helpful to any aspect in life.  You need to communicate with people and you need to manage your money.

photography

Anything that sparks an interest is great for an elective.

i personally like personal finance, forign languages *like french/spanish/german etc.*, shop class, home ec; music

HOME EC. WAS MY FAVORITE!!!
