What are these long tentical things that come out of a snail?

it touches the surface then goes back in the snails shell also it is the same color as my snail I'm just curious what it is

oo I used to have like 33 pet snails that I found outside when I was little.. my mom hated them, I think that's the antennae thing could be eyes.. iunno 0_0 it's the thing they touch things with.. :D:D sense organs maybe..

Snails have soft bodies covered by a hard shell,they have tentacles (feelers) with eyes a mouth with teeth and a foot that moves them forward in a wave motion.

There are 3 types land, fresh water, and salt water.Land snails like dark and shady and damp places, most live on the ground but some will also be found in trees. Active at night. And like cloudy days.They don't like hot and dry weather.

There are hibernators and estivation.

When hot and dry they attach themselves to walls or trees and escape into their shells. The opening gets plugged with a sticky slime so dampness stays inside.

The snails body slows down and it stops eating. This summer hibernation saves the snails when it gets really hot and there is not any water around.
