What are these medical tests for?

I'm having some blood and urine tests done and I don't know what they are for. Could somebody please explain what they are? I know they can't be for pregnancy as that's impossible for me. They aren't for checking my cervical spine either.

  1. The fact that you don't know what these tests are for is disturbing. Speaking as a physician, all tests performed on patients should be explained in advance. Too much of this goes on in western medicine.

  2. Please see the web pages for more details on medical tests.

  3. whoever ordered the blood tests to be done should have explained what they are and make sure you understand before you agreed to have them done, this is known ad informed cosent.

  4. Most of them are to check if you have some kind of autoimmune disease - this is where your immune system attacks some part of your body.

  5. I just briefly searched the internet but I believe they are all for different things that include testing for cancer, arthritis/rheumatoid, and protein levels. It sounds like they are trying to find something in relation to your immune system.
