What are these purple-red dots?

My house was infested with fleas and I got bit up pretty bad. I can't stop scratching even though I know it's for the best. I've been scratching so hard and now these bumpless purple-red tiny dots have been showing up where I've itched. I once was told it's from blood cells popping, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Any ideas?

stop scratching. apply anti-itch cream. take a benedryl. call a doctor if they get infected or you start running a fever.
