What are these white bugs on my indoor herbs?

I have parsley tyme and basel in my kitchen window. They hav little white bugs on the leaves. Are they harmful or should I just rince them well before I use them? I dont want to use a pesticide on them unless there is a safe one.

could be aphids,white flies or mealies,try spraying them with dish soap & water rinse well before eating

They are probably aphids - Mix a few drops of mild lemon scented dish soap, add water about 2 cups put it in a spray bottle and spray your herbs -  This should help.
