What are these wood pigeons?

I have all sorts of birds visit my garden inc wood pigeons but just recently ive noticed 2 that have very dark grey almost black heads and necks they look really odd are they wood pigeons or something else?

  1. Most "pigeons" seen around cities are varieties of stock dove or rock dove. They do interbreed and come in all sorts of colours; generally darker than wood pigeons. They also tend to be slightly smaller and less plump in build. If you are familiar with collared doves, they are similar in size to rock and stock doves.

  3. i am not so sure but it is possible (not likely) to be a cross bred  bird, or just a diff. coulor wood pigeons
