What are thiese really tiny red bugs on the rocks?

I was walking around on the rocks around my house and I noticed thousands of really really tiny bright orange/red bugs. I live in colorado if that helps to identify but some people say they're baby spiders but I'm not sure.

chiggers. or so i was always told when i saw them. also i was told they can burrow into your skin and lay eggs and etc. SO STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I live in mississauga, Ontario and they are here too, they are called Spider mites. So those people where technically right, but they don't grow up into big spiders. They're annoying and can harm plants

They could be baby spiders. They could be Chiggers.
