what are some things I can change about my everyday life to help reduce the many problems with our earth today? My grandma has been recycling everything in the house like crazy for an upwards of 20 years so I've already got that part figured out (although there may be some things that CAN be recycled that I just don't know about yet.)

Other than recycling...

Does the use of certain products make a big difference on the environment such has; hairspray, household cleaners, nail polish etc.? ANYTHING you can think of... I'm willing to try new things in order to help make a change.

Anybody have any good websites?

    ect......................................

  15. Use bags of your own to take to the grocery store so you're not getting plastic and adding to waste and your not getting paper and destroying trees.

I also use method cleaners (can get at Target and almost anywhere now). They're cleaning products do not contain harmful toxins. Seventh Generation is another one that I find in my local store.

  16. Everyone is talking about being Green or eco-friendly these days.  Getting organized is actually very beneficial to the environment.  Here are some thoughts on how organizing your life is earth friendly:

    • When you organize, you get rid of that which you no longer need.  If you sell it or donate it, you are recycling.  Get rid of what you don’t use and recycle it to someone who can use it.  Some great sites for recycling are Craig’s List/free or www.freecycle.com.

    • If you know what you already have, you will consume less.  People tend to overbuy because they don’t remember already having plenty.  Save money and earth’s resources by knowing your inventory and only buying what you truly need.

    • Many garages are breeding grounds for pollutants which are not only earth un-friendly, but also kid and pet un-friendly.  By organizing your space, you can make sure you don’t have anything hazardous laying around.  Check with your local government agency to find the nearest hazardous waste disposal site.

    • Save a tree – recycle that paper.  Most people save/file/pile up way paper that they absolutely do not need.  Having organized paperwork will save you stress and most likely a tree or two.

  17. The use of products is your main problem, as consumption is the single biggest contributor to ecological destruction.

Minimise your purchases, and you will be on the road (or cycle lane) to environmental bliss.

  18. be thrifty to all your necessities..

you save money.. you save the earth.

  19. stop breathing so you won't let out any carbon dioxide??
