What are things I could ask or say in an online conversation? Like when posting on peoples pages. Thanks

I'm unsure if you're talking about chatting in realtime or leaving a post at a blog or facebook.

If it is responding to something already on a page, reference something the person has said on that page and then give your feedback on it.  You could express your opinion or say you've had a similiar experience or similiar reaction as they have had, and then describe it to them.  You might know something more about a subject than they do and you can tell them where they can find more info on it and what you know about it.

For online chats, like in Yahoo games, with people you don't know offline, you could ask them where they live and what it is like to live there.  Ask about their family, interests, schooling, profession, hobbies, fave tv shows, etc.  You could ask about politics where they are or what is popular in music and film there, etc. etc. etc.  You might find someone who loves your favorite movie as much as you do and that's all you talk about for 3 hours.  Who knows?  The world and the world of info is infinite.
