  1. Irish people are cynical in a way Americans just would'nt have experienced.Irish seem friendly on the surface but it's very shallow, often will talk about and mock you behind your back.Generally the Irish are duplicitious. Also very witty and clever in a way most foreigners would not be familiar with.People are slow to give their true opinions and show their feelings,an understated coolness is typical.People may be friendly with you, although they are generally  less  friendly than Americans, however it is very hard to become a friend with an Irish person. It's best not to talk about politics(boring) and certainly not about the IRA(generally hated)Sport ,the economy, house prices and other mad things are fit subjects of conversation. Lifestyle wise poor Irish people tend to eat chinese  food and holiday in Spain, where as the better offf eat  thai  food and have holiday homes in the Algarve.
