What are things for roosters??

Uhh... I randomly was given a rooster today.. And we have food.. But are there "toys" for roosters... And uhh... Does he need anything? You know, like, 'special attention' or things like that?? Anything I need to know about having one? Oh and one more little thing. Will he kill my kitty if he's near it??

Roosters are generally only protective when there are hens around and cats usually don't bother them.Roosters usually don't play.The cat probably would do more harm to the rooster than the rooster would the cat anyway.

Roosters do not need toys.  They are only aggrives if there is more then one or if there are hens.  If you play with it, hold it, talk to it- That sort of thing- then the rooster will begain too trust you. (My roosters will even stand on my head!) They need space and grass and bugs- lots of bugs.  Sometimes I even put some cardborad in my yard to let the crickets live under.  Then my rooster can have fun chasing away all the crickets, eating them.  I have never heard of a rooster killing a cat, but often a cat will kill a rooster.  If you can't build a coop then keep him in a dog igloo at night.  Let him out during the day!

Roosters do NOT play with toys like a regular pet bird does.

He needs a coop/or kennel. It needs to have eather chicken wire or plywood going around the bottm of the coop, this prevents coons and cyotes, and fox from getting him. He needs scracth feed frpom tractor supply company. He also needs a friend. A hen is needed but he doesnt need one. Or if you have a fenced in yard, you can keep him it that and for a week keep him in a cage in a shed or garage area then let hm out in the yard, then he will come back tot he same spot.

Just make sure thet you feed him and pet him every once in a while.

If you dont get a hen or friend for him, he wont be as agressive. You can NOT get another ROOSTER, they will KILL oneanother. They crow so make sure you let your neighbors know or they will make compalaints unless hey dont care.

If its a baby he could. If your kitty is in th house, he wouldnt be able to kill it if its in the house, roosters are outside pets.

A big area for him to roam will become his playground... You will enjoy watching him find bugs and chase them.. My crew has this thing for squirrels... They will chase them in the yard and keep them up in trees. If you have any gardens watch out because fruit or veggies will become toys!..

Roosters don't play with toys. Their entertainment is going around the yard hunting for bugs. Roosters can ger very very mean and attack anyone and anything once their hormones kick in. They really aren't pets. Get some hens for him, you should have 4 hens per 1 rooster. He might try to fight your kitty if he is territory, but not kill.
