What can I use to fill a large glass vase to put more red/burgundy in my living room? All I can think of is to use apples, but that seems a little too country. Any ideas?

  1. i usually hate fake flowers, but pier 1 imports has some really nice and very real looking artificial flowers. i got some large red peonies (i think that's what they are) to go in 2 vases on either side of my fireplace. these flowers are really pretty! just take a look at pier 1 or pottery barn at their artificial flowers. or you could use pomegranates and dried cranberries.

  2. You could put wine in it and seal the vase.

  3. I would go to Michael's and have a look, but grapes are another option instead of apples.  Rose petals, or decorative ornaments/ balls. your options are really endless.  But it will depend on what style you are going for.

  4. I would go with either cinnamon sticks (goes great with red a burgundy and wonders for scent) or different color stones. I would say to stick to white, light pink and of course red and burgundy. If you're going for a romantic look, you can go with the roses (if you must :( .) A definite no to the apples/fruit. No offense to anyone that does has that but they're a little tacky in my oppinion. AND DON'T put a fish inside. I think it' just cruel. I saw it at a friend's family's house the other day and they decorated their blue living room with a blue fish inside the the thin rose vase! It's looks cute for a while, then it's just degrating for the poor thing. If it's like a bowl, somethig cute to do is fill it with water and buy those cnadles that float in your colors. They come in different shapes and sizes in Michael's, Kmart, Target, you name it. Maybe even looking in home style magazines or simply asking in michael's may do the trick ;). I hope it all helps!

  5. -rose petals

    -red toned flowers (gerbers!)

-red/burgundy glass beads (mixed with clear so it isn't too intense) with a candle in the center

-colored glass christmas ornament balls during the season

-get a kit to do glass etching and do a swirling design on the outside - keep it empty

    - Take a smaller, tall column vase and place it inside (the smaller vase will hold a candle). fill the empty space with clear glass beads. Pour resin over the beads and allow it to settle around them. When it hardens it becomes a glowing votive candle holder.

    - plastic apples, plastic strawberries, red berry tree branches

    -  red/burgundy crinkle cut shred paper

  6. red glass stones, you can find them in any arts and craft store, or walmart.

  7. -Cinnamon candy (you can buy the candy sticks from bulk food stores)

-Red glass rocks (from your nearest craft/fabric store)

-Red aquarium rocks (cheaper alternative :)

-Bamboo sticks or even branches gathered from outside- painted red ( if you have the patience)

-Roses...or even just rose petals (you can buy them buy the bag--fake or real :)

    Good luck

  8. Roses; Large red rock; Red ribbons; Red petals; Red beads; heart shaped candy or something similar. Lipsticks.

    Thats my list.

Hope it helps, but try filling a vase that show off your personality what makes you, you.

    good luck <3
