  1. here's a link to some diets your cockatiel CAN eat:

    http://www.cockatielcottage.net/diet2.ht...

Things your 'tiel can't eat include:

avocado, chocolate, caffeine foods, salty and greasy foods, some seed/pits from fruit, poison stuff like soap, etc. and I think 'tiels are lactose and tolerant. So they can't have lots of milk, cheese, etc. But i think they can have small amounts?

  2. Its imporant bird/birds have fresh clean water daily you may wish to use bottled water.Leave fresh foor for short time if not eatting remove this will spoil or rot.Wash the food and water dish daily with hot water and apple cider vinegar. A seed mix is great, pellets contain the complete amounts of nutrients for this bird/ birds. Millet is anothergreat food.

NEVER give this to your pet cockatiel/s

Avocado,Choclate, Coffee, Limabeans, sprouts Milk, sodas, sugar, teas these may all be toxic to your bird/birds.Plants are another threat such as Amaryllis,Anemone,Angle trumpet, Arrowhead Azaleas, Bird of Paradise, Catcus,Mistletoe,PosionOak and many more.Don't give food from your mouth or kiss your bird/birds this is also harmful since your mouth carries germs this can get your bird/birds sick.

Foods Not to feed to bird/birds===

Rhubarb, leaves from potatos, tomatoes, egg plants, bean plants, alcohol, salt, greasy foods, tobacco, fruits seeds or pits from, apples,apricots,oranges,cherries,peaches... these are toxic. No shell fish (shrimp, crab, lobster etc. because of high levels of bacterial contamination.Try Not to give canned veggies. This contains high levels of sodium if need to rise well to remove the sodium.

Dont't feed any thing old or moldy. Peanuts and nuts contain a fungus. Always read labels on foods avoid products that have chemicals, additives or products high in fat, sugar, and sodiums.

For a well norished bird/birds include a varirty of fresh fruits crisp or lightly sreamed veggies and other table foods in your bird/birds diet. This also helps with boredom Offer foods that have diffrent colors shapes, textures and flavors also vary the presentation. Serve them chopped, sliced, diced, minced and mashed.

The bird/birds also enjoy eatting with you.
