  1. Basicily pack anything that goes into the checked in baggage at the airports.

So dont pack: Explosives, guns, ammo, knives (that can be used as weapons that is), dangerous liquids such as petrol. Security is tightned up due to september 11 and cruise terminals basicly use airport securite equipment to screan you and your luggage. Johan.

  2. Well you can't bring a grizzly bear. That's for sure.

  3. hi there. we do cruise for a business. your friend is pretty much right when she said you can bring almost anything on board..of course all prohibited drugs and weapons are an exemption. if i we're you, just bring things that are most important to your everyday use e.i...cloths(exactly for how many days you will cruise), make-up kits, swimwear...etc.  don't bring towels anymore, they provide that on board.

remember to enjoy the cruise learn the experience and not learn from those who have experienced it.

  4. Things not allowed - weapons, your own alcohol, drugs, live animals (and probably dead animals for that matter).

You should pack dressy clothes for dinner and a gown for the captains dinner. You should pack casual for your day times and any excursions you may do. Bring a couple of bathing suits and a couple of wraps or cover ups. Once you have packed all of that pack at least two more of each kind of outfit.  On average I changed clothes  about 3 times a day on each of the 4 cruises I have been on. There is a laundry if you want to try to pack light but there is also a charge on most cruise lines....  Don't forget some tylenol and some dramamine just in case you get sea sick... If you know you suffer from motion sickness start taking a day or two ahead of time so you don't ruin your vacation.... don't forget your sunscreen... it is awfully expensive on board or even at some of the ports of call....

I think the point you friend was making is that you can pack your manicure kit and I have never seen them confiscate a cigarette lighter. You can pack a full size bottle of shapoo and things like that....

  5. Ok... Been on 6 cruises myself. First of all pack way more clothes than you think you'll need. On my first four day cruise, I packed for 4 days, and ran out of clothes in the first two... Don't know how it works, but you run out of clothes way faster on a ship. Second, if you easily get queasy, make sure to bring along some sea/air/car-sickness medicine. Trust me--even the best ships can rock on stormy seas, and puking on vacation isn't fun. If your ship has a pool, which almost all do, pack more than one bathing suite. They fill the pools with salt water, so after one use of your swimming trunks, they stink, and get hard so it's *uncomfortable* to wear them. Third, obviously, don't bring anything stupid--they check all of your luggage. Guns, knives, drugs--not a good idea. If you're looking to bring alcohol, and are planning to bring a wine cork opener, make sure it doesn't have one of those tiny knives in it. They took that from me. Last, you don't need to take any food, or any form of entertainment (other than for a plane ride there). The ship has free buffet 24-7, and 1,000 things do at the same time. If you're getting off at some stops, be sure to bring a camera (preferably waterproof), because cruise lines don't stop at a place that doesn't have a great view.

  6. Cruise - to where?

You must pack according to the expected weather of the area.

I suggest you contact your travel agent, or the ship online as they have tons of advice.

You need some fancy clothes for the "Captain's night" which is a big party!

Usually they have swimming pools - with saltwater not regular pool water - so don't jump in with your eyes opened.

For example, we scheduled a cruise to Alaska - so we will be watching the weather for that time of year.

Don't bring any weapons as your luggage will go through some sort of search.

I can't understand why you think it's trouble.

Bring what you like and makes you happy as far as clothes, shoes and such - but don't bring anything that is illegal or a weapon.

HAVE a great time.  RELAX - you just may have the time of your life!

  7. Contrary to above --- you CAN bring your own booze in your luggage

You cannot bring hair dryers, clothing steamers, or an iron.

  8. drugs, your own liqour/alch. pets, and any weapon

  9. dont bring drugs, alcohol, wepons thats about it

  10. Cruise Lines really sock it to you on drink prices.

Common sense is not allowed on a Cruise.

They don't want you drinking your own booze so they will take it away from you and enjoy it themselves.

Get ready to pay about five bucks for a cold beer.

    Cruise Lines suck!

They have all these rules about what you can do and what you have to wear.

"No sir, that is the fish fork, you can't use that. Here' use this."

    It's total Bull Roar.

I wouldn't go on a cruise again if it was free!
