I'm looking to buy a djembe. I'm a beginner and would love to know what are things to look for that will make a good quality, long lasting djembe?

  1. People will probably tell you that the ones with synthetic heads last longer. BUT, the sound is different. I can't really explain it, but it is.

What I did when I got mine(what I do whenever I get an instrument) is I went to the music store and played every drum that I liked, and picked which one I liked best. I'd reccomend that, because that way you have an instrument that has a sound that YOU like.
