  1. I just can't believe it!!!!

All this brain power, all these people answering, and not a single person even considers, for one moment, Solar electric generating panels...!!!

Well, first off, there is nothing man can do to either promote or stop global warming.  It'll happen with our without our help, we aren't genuinely even in the equation.  But if you must buy something, invest (that's right I said invest) in Solar Electric arrays to power your home, office, or business.  It is cheap, free, abundant power that you can squander and never have to worry again about turning off the light switch!!!  Leave your stereo on and go off on vacation!  You won't have an electric bill when you get home because the SUN has graciously supplied all the power ---- FREE of charge!   AND WITHOUT PRODUCING A SINGLE MOLECULE OF GREEN HOUSE GASSES!!!!

  2. A horse ~

  3. Absolutly nothing. You could shut down every factory in North America, stop every car from running and Global warming would continue. My grand-daughter told me she saw Al Gores video at school (it's required viewing at all schools apparently) and that scares the heck out of me...indoctrination I believe its called. I told her the same thing I'm going to tell you...."do your own thinking". Don't follow the examples of the people in the story of the Emporer's new clothes. Be the little boy who was unafraid to speak out. Use the Internet to research the topic and form your own opinion..not that of the special interest groups. Global warming is a cycle that has been happening for millions of years and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Are we speeding it up a tad...possibly. Scientists (those unafraid to speak out) believe one theory is the action of the Sun and the orbits of its planets...note that even Mars is warming up and its ice cap is melting. Evidence clearly shows that this event has happened in the past and will continue. Those who have a vested interest in scaring the h**l out of half the population of our planet should be drawn & quartered. Should we work at cleaning up our technology and the environment? Of course! Spend our resourses on cleaning up the water and oceans, the land and the air we breath...think about the health of our planet. In short..as I told my grand-daughter.. there are some great books out there to be read and numorous sites on the net to be explored..don't read just one newspaper or watch one news program..you want an informed opinion you must look at all sides of a story.

  4. Until Wal-Mart starts selling something that will allow you to control the amount of energy the sun puts out.. there is NOTHING you can do.

  5. You can't do anything about it.

  6. energy efficient light bulbs and an energy efficient car.

  7. In our modern, industrial society, we use energy powered machines to make almost everything. And if you buy it, they made it. And if they made it, they used energy to make it. And if they used energy, they emitted CO2.

So the very best thing you can do is not buy anything at all. The next best thing is to buy as little as possible.

The most effective and direct thing you yourself can do to limit energy use, and therefore CO2 emission, is to limit your economic activity. Quite simply, poor people emit less CO2. That is why China emits less CO2 than America, because it is not as rich as America. And it is also why China is rapidly increasing its CO2 emissions, because China is getting richer really fast.

  8. The planet is not imperiled by global warming.  If you want to buy a gas efficient car and light bulbs to help keep the temperature  0.000000000000625 of a degree, feel free.   (That is one degree in one hundred years by 8 billion people, assuming 5 per cent of energy usage from cars and lights, rough estimate and probably worst case and ignores any natural contribution).  Frankly, I have other things to worry about than perceived climate effects that are so small as to be in the margin of error and I am talking about the overall effect, not just your contribution to it.
