  2. if you dont get car sick, get some new magazines or a good book. otherwise sleep with your ipod.

  3. ok one thing is a book to read first of all that has large font so you dont get car sick as easily. another thing is if you are a puzzle person, bring a suduku book. or is that is not your kinda thing, bring some cards and a note book to draw in. you could also play a word game like a animal game (if parents are fun). to play the game, one person picks a animal and thinks of it and the other people ask yes orno questions and try to figure it out.

  4. Depends on how old you are, and how many are in your car.  On the 12 hour trips with my family we had a long list of stuff to do.

Sing (kids songs, pop songs, show tunes, didn't matter)

    Read

Read out loud to the driver

    Talk

    Sleep (lots of sleeping)

    draw, write stories

thumb wars (not with the driver)

find licence plates from as many places as possible

ABC Bingo.  Make your way down the alphabet from letters on signs and licence plates and stuff. (Q is usually Dairy queen)

Think.  Don't be afraid to just let your mind wander and enjoy the view.  It's not boring, it's really refreshingn sometimes.

    Tell stories.

And that would take us the whole 12 hours.  Don't forget fruits and veggies as well as junk food to snack on.  The healthy stuff keeps you happier longer, and you're less likely to be bored when you're happy.  Enjoy your trip!

  5. When I go to Virginia every year, it takes about 6 hours. I usually take a pillow and sleep and whenever you wake up just go back to sleep. Sometimes it isnt that easy, so take games or a partable DVD player. Have fun on your trip! Hope I helped [:

  6. take some books or paper to draw or write..

  7. try to stay up really late tonight so that you can sleep the biggest part of the trip if you are able to do this.  the mom should understand and make an exception, this is what i always do with my kids when traveling a long way keep them up late the night before i leave so they will sleep a good couple of hours til you stop for a break then sleep some more....

  8. The ipod can be a life saver if it's a the video one - download some tv shows or movies to watch there. Magazines, books, and comfy pillow to take a nap (that will eat up 30-45 minutes for sure)! OR download a e-book from itunes, I once got one when we drove out of state that was a unabridged version, it was 8 hrs long!

  9. Read a book or play card games or play Ispy. I brought a little dvd player and my gamecube for my kids so I connected it and they played it the whole car trip.

  10. when i was younger i would go to georgia every year its a 6 hour drive i would stay up as late as my body would let me the night before and then i sleep in the clothes i want to wear in the car and have everything ready so all i have to do is walk downstairs get in the car and usually i was back asleep before we even left the house i would wake up for lunch eat and the trip would be over half way done and then just think of anything that could possibly entertain you maybe download a movie on your ipod if you have a video one bring games for your d.s. text your friends anything you think will keep you occupied bring it maybe go to the store tonight and get some new magazines but done read them till tomorrow or bring some of that string to make bracelets

  11. my kids like to play rhyming games - we just spot somehing and start taking turns at rhyming

    otherwise a good book

but As a mother on a long drive I like my kids to talk to me - it keeps me alert and gives us some quality conversations

  12. How about taking a notebook, pencil, pens and write stories or draw?

    Read a book

Get a deck of cards and play card games with someone who is not driving.

    Talk to your family!!

Enjoy the sightseeing....there is so much beauty outside the window!

You can play a game with someone by looking at car tags.  Adding the numbers or whatever you want it to be.

Go to Wal-Mart and buy one of those travel games.  There are several and it's not that much.....made for traveling.

Enjoy being with your family....sing, talk, sleep.....just have fun!
