What are those black beetles that fly called?

Well a bit more info would be helpful...like a description and where you live. And most beetles fly.

We don't all live where you do, and we don't all have the same bugs. My "black beetles that fly" might be totally different than yours.

If it's kind of flat/somewhat-leaf shaped, might be a Stink Bug...there are a lot around some areas this year, in the U.S. at least. I keep finding them inside.
