I know everyone has them, because I've seen people get lost in them. You know those deep stares where you know you're doing it, but it just seems like your eyes don't want to move. --It feels kind of like a short-term eye paralyzation. What are these scientifically called? I would kind of like to know what goes on in the brain when it happens. It's just one of those things I was sitting around wondering about.. like why men have nipples, why black cows don't produce chocolate milk, why is the sky blue. --Yeah, it's one of those kind of things.

  3. I believe this is called zoning out.

  4. It would be some sort of a catatonic episode.

That's probably as scientific as you will be able to classify it.
