What are those insects called?

Can someone tell me what those flying insects are called they are big like a queen bee looks like a beetle they buzz really loud and in the uk they come out when it starts to get dark they are horrible i want to know if they sting or anything.

i think its a blow-fly

or a wasp

if its a blowfly it wont hurt you

if its a wasp - it will
