What are those little trees that you put in pots called.

Bonsai.

bonsia is how you would grow it. If you are talking about taking just about any tree and putting it into a shallow dish and making it look like a mini tree then it would be bonsai-ing and there are hundreds of trees you could use....other then that you  can put just about any tree into a pot, the most common would be a ficus, and crape myrtle....
