    IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 1999--Javelin Systems Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:JVLN) Tuesday announced that Oakbrook, Ill.-based McDonald's Corp. has approved the Javelin Pentium Wedge touchscreen computer for sale to the McDonald's system.

    McDonald's will use the point-of-sales systems in new stores and as enhancements to existing McDonald's locations.

    "Point-of-sale equipment (or hardware) is a key component in our food preparation system, which uses a combination of advanced equipment, sophisticated computer technology and specific operating procedures. This system will provide Owner/Operators and crew with a tool that's easier to use, which we anticipate will translate to even greater customer satisfaction," said McDonald's Director of Vendor Management Robert Cabot.
