One of those...what do they eat also? I used to have 30-50 guppies and the fish would eat algae. But now I got rid of all fish but one(guppies breed like crazy.) So now theres no Algae for the sucker thingy to eat.

  7. Plecostomus (Pleco's) a cart fish from South America but as of recent  now almost world wide distribution. They get about 4' in length.

Yes, that's four feet in length in the wild.

  8. The one in your picture is a pleco.  And algae doesn't come from the fish.  It just naturally grows in aquarium water, particularly if it gets sunlight.  They do eat algae. As well green foods such as lettuce and peas, cucumbers, plus vegetable-based flake foods. Will also accept small live or frozen foods.

They will eat any fish that can fit into their mouth. Also, they have been know to latch onto the side of larger fish. They can be quite destructive when moving around the tank, lashing plants and dislodging rocks with a swipe of their powerful tails.

Plecos will often eat the plants in the aquarium.
