Question:

What are those really hard Spanish cookies called?

I remember eating them as a kid. They're really hard and they're pretty large - they came in a little bag and were stacked on top of each other.

I know they are (were?) relatively popular in Puerto Rico, but I have no way of knowing whether they originated from there or not.

I know my description is a bit vague, but does anyone know what I'm talking about?

    Maybe they're Italian Waffle Cookies?

  2. Maybe you mean "cucas".

  3. Biscotti or maybe that's italian.

  4. what was the flavor?  Are you sure they were Spanish, not Italian?  Annisette cookies look like a wedge...or Biscotti maybe?
