It was said in one of my questions I have asked that people who have dark skin live up to their negative stereotypes and are disliked. I am wondering about specifically brown skinned people (Native Americans, American Indians, Indigenous peoples) what are their stereotypes and why are they disliked so much.

  1. I have heard they drink alot.

  2. I use to think native Americans or Indians wore leotards everywhere and owned casinos. And had stupid names like  "red sheep" or something lame like that....d**n you cartoons!!!

  3. I think its because u know who raped their country and all of its culture and then put them on reservations. So its probably a combination of guilt, ignorance and regret that causes the anger and ill treatment of the people.

  4. for one thing, that all native are drunks...i hate that or that we feel no pain,we don't cry,we have mystical powers...i could go own all day...i like who i am,even proud,i just wish that others would take the time to know who we are without all the stereotypical b.s

  5. trade land 4 beads and whiskey

plus great starting and middle relief pitching terrible bats

  6. idk y they are disliked  but they shouldnt be

  7. One stereotype is that all Native Americans have a problem with alcohol which leads to violence.  I am half Native American and I have never felt disliked because of my heritage.

  8. unfortunately, I think there's a stereotype of native people being less educated, and only knowing obscure knowledge from their own culture.

  9. well will smith, jada pinkett smith, demi moore, aaliyah, tina turner, the guy from santa clause....they all claim to be native american, so I guess that's a start.

  10. the one that ticks me off the most is that we are all "drunk."  i look around my immediate family, my husband busts his bust off everyday in the army(active duty, not reserves), my mother works two jobs, my father has been in the same job for as long as i can remember, my stepmother has worked all her life, gone back to school, and gets paid d**n good money, my brother has been working ever since he was allowed to, my sister is busting her butt off in school, I work, have a home business, and raise 5 children!!!!   the natives I know hardly have time to raise a d**n glass in celebration let alone to be a drunk.

  11. they're always drunk?

  12. hmmm, i didn't know that they are disliked.  i do know that the stereo type of the "drunken Indian" has it's basis.  there is a lot of documentation of the settler's plying them with alcohol.  i believe they are genetically very susceptible to alcoholism as a result.  if you were to visit many of the reservation areas, you will find garbage debris destroyed homes etc.  it casts a negative eye on them,  but, history has had it's place in all of it.  they used to be proud as a race and because of how they were treated, once conquered, they have handed down no pride.  many native Americans, including my half brother, step brother and two step sisters, are very successful in their lives and they do not experience the negativity's you are referring to.
