What are those strips that protect the car,they are black?

They are not stripes,pinstripes,or designs.They may be made out of rubber or old tires.I think that their purpose are to protect the car from being hit by things like grocery carts.

Are you talking about the car bras (the ones that cover the front nose of the car?) if so, then they are usually made out of some leather grain vinyl material. It's to protect the front of the car from rock chips while your driving.

but if your talking about the molding on the side doors, then yeah its usually to stop things like shopping carts from denting your car.
