What are those things called that are used to put in between your shopping?

When in the supermarket you use those plastic things to show the cashier that your shopping ends and the next persons starts.

They must call them something when to order them....What?

Yahhhhyyyy  angelas dad  I do the same thing too, and pretend I havent noticed, so it takes longer for the checkout person to sort things out, and recalculate etc

I mean some people think its beyond their dignity to put a spacer after their shopping and I see red

It is called a "conveyor belt divider" or a "supermarket grocery divider".

No idea what the proper name for them is, but my dad gets so annoyed if the person in front does not put a "wee stick" at the end of thier shopping. He tends to shove his stuff right next to theirs to force them into using one of the wee sticks!! It can be quite embarrassing sometimes.
