Some time you find a usb port on some home theater system, I wonder what is the fonction of those usb poert, for intance this one:JVC Sophisti DD-3 - home theater system

  1. You can use them for Mp3's and Divx movies, viewing your digital photos, on your TV, Etc....


  2. I have a Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver which has a USB port on it.  You can use it to play music directly off of a flash drive which is pretty neat.  

    The receiver also has a RJ-45 (ethernet) jack on the back which is for it connecting to up to 10 computers to play music from just about anywhere or to play music off of preset internet radio stations.  Just thought you would find that interesting.

  3. On receivers they are for mp3's,

    and on DVD players they are for Pictures.

  4. sometimes they are merely servvice ports for updates that you can download from internet for the reciever onto a flash drive
