What are thr regulations/laws for running an in-home day care?

Is it illegal to charge for baby-sitting if you are not licensed? I was wondering because I am having a baby in a few weeks and I am a full-time student. I don't work anymore and have decided not to for a while. (pay doesn't off set daycare costs). So basically I was wondering how to go about being able to sit for 2 or 3 children plus my own without worrying about getting in trouble. I live in nebraska btw.

Most states say you must have a license to babysit so many kids., your children included.. be careful, You could be fined, If caught sitting for more than what your license allows.

I only know that cuz the lady next door got busted....Also, some states make you take like CPR classes and some require it. Call your local agengies and ask. Good Luck , with the new baby
