  1. Not being able to adapt to the change in their environment. A tragic sudden change: flood, fire, disaster. Sickness/disease, or even being stupid.

  2. Arrival of new predatory or competitive species (cats, rats & foxes, for example). Loss of habitat. Extinction events (massive volcanic eruption/meteor impacts), like the K/T boundary event which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.

  3. Inability to procreate, inability to adapt to environment, and inability to fight off predators.

  4. 1) Lack of food or water

    2) Introduction of new predators that a species have little or no defense (also see 3 & 4))

    3) Microbes and diseases brought into enviroment (see 2 &4)

    4) Overhunting  (see 2 & 3)

    5) Lack of adaptation to changes in enviroment.

    6) Problems with offspring (some other species stealing eggs, etc.)

    7) Any combination above

  5. if you refer to the exticntion of animals and plant.. i think this is the best answer that i can think of:

    1. human = greedy, selfish, interuption of ecosystem by humans.

ex= bison of the great plains of N.america, passenger pigeon, carolina parakeet, dodo birds

2.natural disaster=earthquake, floods, environment and global changing.

but most of all.. human is the cause of species extinction.

  6. Smoking, drinking, and wild parties.
