  2. they are awesome lol you can get all kinds of things (used) they usually help charitable foundations you can buy almost anything from there. Furniture clothes, window treatments toys you name it they are there.

  3. Janice,

They are stores, usually operated by non-profit groups like Salvation Army, Goodwill, St Vincent de Paul, where people can go and buy inexpensive clothing, and in many cases furniture, cooking items, toys, and other things. The money they make goes to support low income families. Stores like Value Village support rehab programs.

My family and I used these a lot while I was in college - and it was very helpful. We donate to them quite a bit now.

  5. you can drop off clothes you don't want anymore & they will take them & sell them there. you can also go look for cool used things there. for so cheap! =]

**oh, and theres a DIFFERENCE between second hand stores and thrift stores!

-a secondhand store is where people get PAID to sell the store their clothes. so the clothes are usually a better quality because the people who work there only accept GOOD clothes. (example: platos closet)

-a thrift store accepts anything, and you don't get paid for giving them your clothes. so it's cheaper with not as many nice clothes. but you can find some cool, old things there. (example: goodwill)
