I am 13 year old girl, 7th grade, 3.8 - 4.0 GPA average. I was thinking of starting a babysitting service with one of my friends and to bike to my clients. Any tips, advice, warnings, sites for me? Thank you all so much! Also, how much should I charge?

  1. im not a parent, but if i was i wouldnt want a 13 year old looking after my baby lol

  2. impress the parents and most imp the mother...

be friendly at first to the kid but make sure you dont make it seem like an act..at first, keep charges low ( not very low ) and then gradually when you are recommended to other parents, increase your money...

be very sure that you make them know that you know all the ettiquites and are well manered.thats the most important..also try knowing abt good kiddie games and stuff so that you can tell them that the kid can have good time with you..

  3. I started watching kids when I was about your age and here is what I found out worked the best. When a parent asks you to watch there child ask if you could come over the day before and watch their routine and meet the children. This is especially important if you are going to be in charge of bedtime. Knowing the bedtime routine will make your night go much easier and parents will be impressed when they come home to a house that is quiet and calm. Also if you are taking care of a baby be sure to ask about the amount of formula and any sort of diapering care they have for their baby. Parents will be impressed that you think to ask these questions and it will show that you care about their child. Also ALWAYS be sure to get a number you can reach them at while they are away. Oh and something you probably already know but, when you show up at the house be sure you are dressed in a way that says hi i'm ready to watch and take care of your child. Jeans and tshirts that cover up all your skin are a good bet as are tennis shoes-especially if you are watching toddlers and plan on taking them outside. Oh and one more thing-if you don't feel comfortable around the parents, like something about them creeps you out, turn them down. Always trust your instincts-they'll keep you safe. And always make sure your parents know where you are at and have a number that way you are protected.Hope this helps. Best of luck.
