  1. Always know that if you go out to hard in the first lap you'll pay for it at least double in the second lap. So if you run a 59 in the first lap you could pay for it by running a 61 or higher in the second lap.

    Make sure you go out at a strong pace and try not to lead until you have to. Drafting off of people really helps. When you get to the second lap just go. Really kick it in when you get to the 200m mark of the second lap and you should be at your peak while crossing the finish line. Hope this helps! :)
