I have never been able to learn to swim when i was younger. Now, as a teenager, i'm hanging out at beaches with my friends and i cannot swim at all. What are some things i need to keep in mind when i'm trying hard to teach myself to swim?

  1. Just learn how to put your face in the water and learn how to paddle your feet.

  2. try to learn to swim in a pool or a closed in area so you don't have to worry about waves.

to float you want to inflate your lungs as far as you can and keep your body flat on the top of the water. Keep your stomach and hips up.

to kick you want to keep you knees straight and kick from your hip.  unless you want to do frog kick... that's too complicated to explain here.

but definitely get comfortable in the water with a life guard or some one watching before you go out by yourself.

  3. Ok... I  swim year round and 3 times a week in the winter and every day in the summer.

What you do put hands up in the air and hold them to your ears then put you face in the water and kick withyou legs semi straight

hope i was a little helpful its hard to explain without showing ya

  4. learn to relax, and first things first, learn to float. if you ever get tired or cramp up, the most important thing to do is lie on your back and float.

I'm not a swim teacher or anything, so I can't give you anything big, but just remember that it doesn't take as much effort as yout hink, don't tire yourself out by kicking too hard.

  5. Well never give up,because that gets u nowhere!!!You should go to your local swimming pool and in the shallow end try and practice kicking with a kick board. Then start to use your arms to drag you further.Keep kicking and stretch each arm,one at a time,in front of you then drag it back and while you are dragging it back prepare the other arm to do the same. While you are doing this keep your head down under water. It will make it easier to swim.If there are any snorkles available, ask can you borrow one and then you'll e able to concentrate on your stroke, not your breathing. If there are not any snorkles available, you can buy them at any reputable swim shop.Goggles also help so you can actually see what you are doing underwater!!!
