There is a special software named Bittorrent, which opens the *.torrentz

file and start downloading it...

Usually many people search for the softwares or any other files on www.torrentz.com(or similar site)

they provide you link to download but they are in *.torrentz format, only read by Bittorrent, utorrent, azureus etc. and then they start downloading the file.

torrent files are a magnetic links for downloading large files with p2p

format in order to download the torrent, you must have a program

like bit comet. (there are others)  this program allows you to download the file you want, there are .nfo files that you have to open with notepad

these files will give you more information like install info just be careful on downloading as there are people that hide trojans and other stuff in he programs so be careful when downloading, always check the files with anti-virus and spy-ware  programs and even then you could catch something  i hope this helps
