  1. A treasury bond is a bond with a maturity more than 10 years w/ a fixed interest rate paid yearly or semi-yearly.

    A treasury note has a maturity between 1 to 10 years w/ a fixed interest rate.

    Both have no risks in that they are backed by the U.S. government. They are basically debt given to the government in the form of IOUs.
