  1. Large branches from pine trees are safe for cockatiels. Breeders use pine shavings as nesting material for their nest box.


  2. Unsprayed maple with bark still on,Apple branches,any solid wood 2x4 Whatever you use make sure natural and free from chemicals.

    Pine (un milled) and oak are toxic to birds. Cherry (is toxic)

    Use different diameters for your birds feet!!

    This way there feet and legs wont get sore/stiff from same size perch the pressure and if to thin in diameter.

    They need a couple different size perches
