  1. triggers are little switches in an electronic drum pad that send a "trigger" signal that tells the drum sample you're using "start now" when you hit them.

    you put pillows into the bass drum so that it will sound more muffled and punchy. if you don't muffle it at least a little, it comes out sounding somewhat like a floor tom.
