UNITED STATES uses ENGLISH UNITS.

ADVANTAGE OF USING SI UNITS ARE

1) Added Knowledge of new unit system other than english

2) if only SI unit system is used , uniformity through out the world.

1) replacing the equipment and other instruments that are now using english units to SI is expensive and time consuming.

communication via numbers and not words and base 10 system is easier

dis-  Teaching 10% of the world something different and there is still a lot of confusing sub values, like pressure in kpa, atms, bars, cmHg and others, there isn't a standard way to do all measurements even in SI.
