  1. Biotic - natural material derived FROM a lving organism

sooooo - nutrient rich food and ability to produce energy for survival

Abiotic -  factors are the non-living factors of the Earth which affect the ability of living organisms to survive in an environment.  So, climate and non-polluted water (which some would argue are part of the living earth and therefore NOT considered abiotic.)

What do you think the factors are?

  2. Abiotic (non biological) factor that will affect all of the above are heat and cold and poisons. Biotic factors are diseases.

  3. Zebra:

Abiotic factors: temperature, water supply, pH of water supply or food source, viruses (viruses are dead and thus counted as abiotic), salt-level of water supply

Biotic factors: pathogens (bacteria that cause disease), interspecific competition and intraspecific competition, predators, prey

Dog: pretty much the same as above, for a domestic dog though, I might suggest temperature and viral disease for abiotic (don't lock those canines in cars and try not let them mix with random mutts!) and for biotic: pathogens and interspecific competition? (dogs get into fights a lot with other dogs)

    Dogwood:

Abiotic: intensity of light, water supply, supply of nutrients in soil, soil pH, levels of salt in soil, viral diseases, wind speed, temperature (mainly involved with transpiration and some other metabolic processes)

Biotic: Population of symiotic bacteria in soil, pathogens, predators
