I have to do a paper explaining the central features of cultural anthropology and two main subdisciplines. I am not sure what the subdisciplines are but think it is the "the changing world" and "Cultural diversity" Any other ideas out there?

  1. I'm not comfortable saying there are two disciplines.  There used to be the Social Anthropologists vs. the Cultural Anthropologists but that isn't such a strong distinction anymore.  There is a question of whether anthropologist should look at similarities or differences which may be what you're getting at with "cultural diversity" but I don't think that "the changing world" is related to that.  The world is always and has always been changing.  There are a lot of divisions within sociocultural anthropology and I think you may need to revisit the class notes and the texts and see if you can't find the teacher's preferred division.  If you can't, ask your classmates or ask the professor.
