    :) Vivaldi-lover

  3. I'll give you three- the biggest stylistic features of Vivaldi are his uses of texture, harmonic contrasts, and rhythm.

Vivaldi was well known for writing for unusual combinations of instruments.  He manipulated the texture of his pieces using various timbres, including chalumeaux and lutes mixed with flutes, bassoons, and horns.  Even in his famous "Four Seasons", he used instrumentation in combinations unusual to the standards of the Baroque Period.  Vivaldi also incorporated smaller chamber groups within an orchestra, cutting down on parts and giving a sparse sound, then adding instruments back in to give his pieces the contrasting fullness, especially to add richness and energy to the climax.

Vivaldi's harmonic contrasts and rhythmic structure were especially "playful" compared to his contemporaries.  He wrote largely for the sole purpose of writing, being sure to gear his pieces to the appeal of the masses- not strict and rigid academia.  His use of sequence is more than enough proof of his innovation- which is the basis for Bach's Fugues.  Vivaldi had a tremendous influence on Bach (who of course took Vivaldi's work a few steps farther!), and between the two, helped push the Baroque into the Classical.

Vivaldi solidified the fast-slow-fast structure of a three movement piece, and was the first composer to use ritornello (recurring theme for orchestra) in fast movements.  This helped to secure greater thematic unity throughout his compositions, and was immitated by his peers immediatley. He used vigorous rhythmic patterns, to be played by multiple instruments (adding to the texture element), which he would simultaneously contast with a fluid melody.

I hope this is kind of what you were looking for! :)

  4. clasical music.... i dont have another one.

but please vote me best answer and give me a thumbs ^

  5. Sorry, I can't answer your question in the academic sense - but this is what I know: 1) His music generally uses violins or strings instruments. 2) Is music seems to use more slides and arpeggios than than say Corelli, Bach, or other Baroque composers.
