  1. They transport water using thier xylem and phloem. Plants transport water by transpiration. The have stomata on the underside of thier leaves to prevent water loss.


  2. Keeping their stomata closed prevents water loss but then the plant cannot gain carbon dioxide. Xylem transports primarily water and phloem transports mainly organic nutrients such as sucrose. Osmosis by the roots picks up water and transpiration pull and root pressure are other ways to move the water around.
