  1. Ocean plants are located near the surface where sunlight can reach them, because they need sunlight for energy. They combine sunlight with nutrients from the ocean water to make food.Seaweed and sea grasses are located on the ocean floor. They come in a variety of colors like green, brown, and red. Only 10% of the ocean has been explored. That means that there's a lot  of plants to be discovered.  Many other plants have roots while many other plants are floating around in the ocean. Some plants have flowers that make pollen. Plants need pollen to make other plants. In the ocean, water carries pollen to different plants.

  2. There are lots of different algae in the ocean such as diatoms and cyanobacteria.  Multicellular plants such as kelps are also familiar.

  3. Besides the algae and cyanobacteria, there are some angiosperms which grow on the seashore and can tolerate the salty water. They are the halophytes. They form the forests and it is a typical ecosystem of the seashore.

  4. The plants living in aquatic environments are termed as hydrophytes. since the ocean has high levels of salt, these plants are also called as Halophytes.

Depending upon the depth of ocean, closeness to coast, etc the types of plants differ.

Generally one can find sea weeds, algae, etc. these plants are adapted to the ocean environment. Tress are not found in the oceans as they are not adapted to the ocean habitat.
