I'm asking the same question, and not getting any clearer answers than you are, lol.  To make matters worse, I'm an American with 100% Ukrainian blood.

To study the history of Ukraine leads one to the conclusion that either historians are nuts, or Ukrainians are.  Perhaps both.  The recent political history of Ukraine seems an excercize in happy anarchy, but where no one is smiling.

I'd suggest visiting nrcu.gov.ua (Radio Ukraine, a tri-lingual website), kyivpost.com (in English) and talking online with as many as you can.  You won't be any less confused, but you'll be a better informed confused.

By the way, some (Ukrainian, naturally) historians have concluded that Jesus, Mary and Joseph were in fact Ukrainian, so do be respectful unless you want Heaven to fry your hard-drive.

wow.. there have been some pretty dumb answers but.. im ukrainian and i'm pretty much like anyone else from the united states. except i can speak 3 languages instead of one

I would think Ukrainians are pretty much like everyone else.  Is this leading to a genealogy question?
