  1. Soy beans and soy beans products is the most popular solution for your condition (if you're not allergic to them)

    Try it.

  2. Congrats!!!!! well I like morning star band and boca brand those are good ask an employee for help finding them some times it's tricky good luck I love it

  3. There is a brand called "Quorn" which is fake meat that taste real lol..You can get lots of varities eg: Saucages, bacon, burgers etc. Here's a link to it >>http://www.quorn.com/

You can find it at supermarkets =]

  4. My wife is a vegetarian and I am not. I eat dinner with her a lot though and have to figure out good meat alternatives. The best ones I have found are these: http://www.lightlife.com/ourproducts.jsp

You can use the "Grounds" to make tacos, chili, etc.

The chkn strips are good with pasta, salads...whatever.

Just go to allrecipes.com and check out vegetarian meals. You will have tons of options.

  5. Tofu, it's  very versatile.

  6. whole foods and trader joes will be your best friend (i've been a vegetarian for 16 years and live so much more comfortably since i've discovered these two stores) by the meat section they have substitutes for everything... riblets are the yummiest and tofu is great too.

  7. mmmmm

    beans

    Tofu

  8. cottage cheese (no low-fat), egg whites, rice+soy, lentils+nuts

  9. Nuts, seeds and pulses (lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, etc, etc, etc).  And tofu/tempeh.  And products like miso.

  10. No vegetable can substitute the type of protein meat provides.

  11. Ask your friend what analogues she likes.  As someone else pointed out, though, Whole Foods is your friend, as they have the best selection of analogues and, believe it or not, usually the best prices (at least compared to the Harris Teeter near me).  Amy's, Lightlife, and Gardenburger all have excellent convenience foods for vegetarians and vegans.

But really, you don't need that much protein.  Too much protein can be detrimental to your bones and your kidneys.  It's the most pernicious myth out there, fomented by the meat and dairy industries to convince you to buy their products.  But until kwashiorkor becomes common in industrialized nations, I wouldn't worry about protein.
