Question:

What are very tiny black insects in my garden?

these insects are very small thin and bend there tail upwards.They are also able to fly.They come into my kitchen and bathroom.they get in your hair and all over your clothes.I live oposite open farm fields.Are they something to do with farming?PLease help they are driving me mad............

  1. Sound like thunderflies, they crawl over you and make you itch.  They are very small but drive you nuts.

  3. these insects live in the garden and in the soil(earth), thats their home, i have expereineced these things too and u need 2 buy a spray, statistically talking, mortein. they will go away after u spray them

  4. this third guy is wrong, those re not thrips. thrips live mostly close to plants, in their buds and on their leaves and they re not much of flyers - once they found a plant they mostly crowl on them.

  5. About 2mm in length?  You find them this time of year especially if you live near cultivated farmland.  I know them as 'Thunder Flies', 'Corn Flies'.  Not sure what their proper name is.  They get everywhere, even inside photo/picture frames.

    They don't last for very long.
