  1. None really.

    I guess you could consider pistons as linear motion but then it is converted into rotational energy for the dynamo to work.

In a dynamic microphone the movent of the diaphragm, which is connected to a maget and moves within a magnetised coil generates an electrical charge equal to the movement at the daiphragm - that electrical charge is sent through the cable and that is how we hear from a mic. Hence, magnetics in motion can generate a small current.

  3. Not many because rotating bearings are so efficient.  Squeezing a piezo crystal will produce a voltage sufficient to make a spark.   Moving a magnet in a linear coil will produce enough electricity to sense the speed of movement of a reciprocating element.
